What might be possible if we had ways of imagining it?
In this 3 hour workshop facilitated by Emily Salja (MNTCW), we'll explore fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, speculative fiction, magical realism and more to access 'landscapes of possibility' and elevate your narrative conversations in dignifying ways.
While this approach works well across demographics, this can be particularly useful in conversations with queer, trans, neurodivergent, and chronically ill/disabled community members.
Group and student rates available, please contact info@groundfireccw.ca. Pre-approved for 3 CE credits with the CCPA.
To register and pay via Interac e-transfer or direct local bank transfer in USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, or NZD, please contact info@groundfireccw.ca.
In this workshop, we'll:
Identify ‘landscapes of possibility’ and why they’re important
Look at ways we can weave stories and characters from fictional landscapes into our work for therapeutic ends, even if we don’t know the stories ourselves
Consider ways that fictional stories we interact with shape and reflect our lives
Explore how fantastic landscapes can ease the constraints that dominant discourses present in day-to-day life and offer new pathways
Practice ways of integrating what is fantastic or made possible by fantasy into the reality of day to day life.
